BALLET | BALLROOM & LATIN | CONTEMPORARY | COMMERCIAL | JAZZ | MT | TAP | FREESTYLE JAZZ
Kika found her love for dance at the age of seven when her mum took her to her very first Latin and Ballroom class, where she began her training under Vicki and Terry Guildford.
Her dance repertoire expanded when she joined Freestyle Dance Academy, trained by Denise Palmer. There she began her journey of exploring jazz, contemporary and lyrical, as well as some street dance. Once she retired from competing, she took to teaching at the school, choreographing and preparing young dancers for competitions.
She went on to join a ballet academy. Even though beginning ballet training so late, she excelled in classes and began pointe work after just three weeks.
While studying at ICTheatre, Kika began classes in commercial (Josh Nkendilim) and tap (Lorraine Le Blanc), among returning to jazz (Bree Smith), ballet (Michael Walters) and contemporary (Natalie Ayton).

False Reactions - Choreo. Kika Glod
This was a project initiated by contemporary tutor Natalie Ayton, which explores the confines of lockdowns and how we can express our feelings through movement. The piece choreographed focuses on the fast changes taking place within our lives on a daily basis but with the implications growing due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Kika explores the necessity felt to constantly be up to speed with workloads in a challenging time, whilst losing touch with our inner selves and encountering a battle with becoming shutdown and robotic in everyday life.
DANCE WORK
La La Land Epilogue Ensemble - Choreo. Mandy Moore
Choreography from the Musical Film 'La La Land', originally choreographed by Mandy Moore. This was a part of jazz styles training at ICTheatre. Students were assigned to learn the choreography from the film, in video form, and to record the dance as a self-tape. Kika performs the choreography above with a moment of improvisation to suit the style of dance and to introduce her character.
(working title) - Choreo. Celeste Woods-Ferrer
In a world where we lose touch with each other, living our lives through screens, intimacy isn't entirely lost.
A short dance film based on the struggles of finding someone to live alongside in life and the magical moment when we finally do. The dancers explore feelings of loneliness and euphoria that dictate life and the journey they take us on.
